Annie ran on Broadway originally for 1,147 performances and starred legendary star Ethel Merman. It was turned into an M-G-M musical with Betty Hutton and many times revived on Broadway, most recently with Reba McIntyre.

During the golden period of the record era's production of studio cast albums at Columbia Records, Goddard Lieberson put his biggest star, Doris Day in the leading role of Annie Oakley in a studio cast recording opposite Robert Goulet. With new orchestrations by Phil Lang and Orchestra and Chorus under the direction of Franz Allers in glorious stereo, the album was recorded in 1963.

Here then, for the first time on CD is this great album.
